One of the most famous Christmas songs in the world was written by the Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych. “Shchedryk” was first performed in 1916 in Kyiv, and by 1921 it was already being played in the Carnegie Hall concert hall in New York. It is known worldwide as “Carol of the Bells”.
