The group of cetaceans includes dolphins, orcas, whales, and sea pigs. And all of them sleep with only one hemisphere of the brain. It’s a kind of “slow-wave sleep”. While the left hemisphere sleeps, the cetacean closes its right eye. Then the right hemisphere controls the breathing. When the right hemisphere sleeps, the reverse process occurs.
